Passions Sizzles
This pro bono job spiced up the night of the hottest culinary event on the calender.
Passions is an annual fundraiser, with much-envied invitations. Put on by the Dr Peter AIDS Foundation, this gala evening benefits the Foundation’s treatment centre, based in downtown Vancouver.
Every year, chefs from Vancouver’s top restaurants are invited to whip up edibles that are not only mouth-watering, but unique to the evening. Guests wander, fine wines in hand, between tasting stations that are essentially competing for their patronage. It’s foodie heaven: a ready-to-eat, gourmet market. These fortunate, generous few sample the nectar and ambrosia, while mingling with fellow Vancouverite stylistas.
Firestain played up the passionate, fiery theme with a chili pepper bent into an AIDS ribbon. We paired this with the headline ‘The hottest culinary event on your calender.’ The campaign was a huge success, with the evening generating an impressive $93,000.
